I wondered why they left me behind that night and did not take me with you. He explains: 'When I went to sleep they put you on a train. Hassan says he was told one night that they would all go to Europe together, but when he woke up Mo was gone and he didn't see him again for many years. I knew you had left but I had no idea where you were exactly. We didn't have phones, roads or anything. When Mo asks why he was sent to the UK, his mother admits she has no idea why he ended up there. Upon their meeting Mo's mother Aisha says: 'Never in my life did I think I would see you or your children alive. I sent you off to your uncle in Djibouti so you could have something.' In the documentary Aisha tells Mo: 'We all thought we were dying. Following their father's death Mo and brother Hassan were sent to live with an uncle in neighbouring Djibouti to escape the civil war.
